My journey into Holistic therapies started in the UK, I qualified as a Reiki 1 & 2 Practitioner in 2002 & 2003, I also learned about Crystal Healing and Indian Head Massage following my enjoyment of Reiki.
I have over the last year gained qualifications in Holistic Nutrition, Nutrition for Age 50 plus and also in Vegetarian and Vegan Nutrition and am a fully qualified Indian Head Massage Practitioner.
My own journey as been a huge learning curve about food, how to lose weight and to still enjoy food, I am not saying I have cracked it all but I am certainly fitter, happier and still learning along the way, I know how hard it is! Due to going to a Slimming Club and losing a big chunk of weight and still some more to lose, my interest in health and food was re-ignited and felt I needed to go one step further and learn more about nutrition and the “Holistic approach” which basically means thinking about the big picture.
My appetite has been ignited into studying further, there is more to food than for survival, we need to enjoy food, learn to love different tastes and eat seasonally – which is actually quite easy here in France. Intuitive eating can also play a part in our lives and finding what suits one is not always what suits everyone! I am carrying on studying and have a list that one day I may complete!
Furthering my knowledge of Holistic and Alternative Therapies that have been laying dormant, recently I seemed to find myself veering to Reiki again, friends around me also seem to talk about their interest and as I only tend to use it when asked and just enjoy giving I thought it would be a great way to start back and share the love!
Indian Head Massage is a wonderful thing! I love giving it and feel so much happiness at the end of a treatment…it’s very fulfilling and feels totally right!
The body is an amazing thing – and we do need to learn to treat ourselves with love, compassion and understanding – sometimes it is just changing a few habits and then we can begin to work on self love & self care these positive adjustments stop us berating ourselves and living in the negative frame of mind of self loathing and self hatred. Putting a few practices of learning how to relax, de-stress and eat properly, by making these a daily or weekly ritual, starting with you and your self we can help you on your way to a happier, healthier YOU!
